Frequently Asked Questions

Our FAQs have been developed in response to questions asked by our clients. Have a question, need an answer? Email us at Info@studio4hair.mb.ca

Q - What is the difference between store bought and salon flat/curling irons?

A - There IS a price difference but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" Salon bought irons have higher heat settings and therefore it won't take you as long. Also, they have ceramic plates that will not damage, or pull the hair like a cheap store bought iron will.
Talk to your stylist about what type of tool will be best for your hair and think about spending a little extra money as professional tools last a long time and 99% of the time comes with a good warranty. In the long run you will be happy with your purchase.

Q - How come when I get home I can never make my hair look like it did when I left the salon?

A - We as hairstylists went to school to learn different techniques, using different products to so that when you leave the salon you have a professional, finished look. You may see us using four or five different products, blow dryer, flat and/or curling irons and finish it off with hairspray. We make your hair look its best!
Ask your stylist what they are using on your hair from shampoo to mousse to hairspray. Also ask them how they apply it and use the various tools.

Q - Why should I use salon products (shampoo and/or conditioners)

A - Salon bought products are formulated with less detergents and are therefore not as harsh on your hair, this helps maintain colour as well!
Stop by Riverbend Studio 4 Hair and ask a stylist which shampoo and condition is best suited for your hair texture and type.

Q - Why is my scalp itchy and flaky?

A - This could be caused by not rinsing out shampoo and/or conditioner thoroughly or it can also be caused by product build up. Try taking a few extra minutes in the shower when rinsing and pick up a clarifying shampoo, this helps to remove all the products as you wash
